Aimhigher Presentation for Childcare Learners

Childcare students at a presentation by AimhigherChildcare learners who are due to complete their Level 3 qualifications this year with Training Plus merseyside, attended an Aimhigher event at our Lime Street Offices on Wednesday evening, 13th August, presented by Alana Clough from Aimhigher...

20 learners attended the evening; interacting in the workshop to explore advanced qualification and career opportunities within the sector and beyond their current qualification levels. Learners reported to tutors at the end of the eveining that they had thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.
Trainers June Lloyd and Kelly Hodgson commented that "learners had very relevant and pertinent questions for the guest presenter; these showed that learners are interessted in progressing beyond the accepted Level 3 threshold and job roles in the sector. Level 4, 5 and 6 qualifications like HND, NVQ 4, Advanced Diplomas and HNC's and the range of training providers who run these on Merseyside were outlined and given out. Students were fascinated by the descriptions of advanced industry professional roles such as Day Nursery Manager, Children's Centre Manager and Family Centre Manager for example".

Our staff, along with colleagues from Aimhigher in association with The Greater Merseyside Learning Providers Federation (of which Training Plus merseyside is a member Company) is now planning a second successful evening for Level 3 Hairdressing learners and employers in the near future. Our thanks to Rachel McDonald (GMLPF) and Alana for the support on getting this exciting and interesting enhancement day for learners off the ground.
