Badged Apprenticeship Awards Celebration

Training Plus Staff & Learners with Badged Apprenticeship Programme Manager Joanne RymerLearners from businesses and training providers all over Merseyside were presented with their badged apprenticeship achievent awards at an event held in their honour at the Liverpool Maritime Museum on Thursday 2nd October 2008.
The evening was entusiastically presented by learners Anthony Priviledge, Shaun Hamilton and Francine Finnin who adeptly introduced a host of industry speakers and cultural entertainment. Actor Zoe Lister of Hollyoaks fame presented the young people with their prestigious and unique awards, throughout the evening.
Training Plus merseyside learners Heather Lee-Zeisz from Erkul and Georgia Joseph from Cavern Hair Company attended the event with Hairdressing Manager Lesley Lavin and Directors Paula Hayes and Brian Quinn and are pictured here with Joanne Rymer Badged Apprenticeship Programme Manager. Heather, Georia and Emma Blain from Hairsmiths were all participants in the Demystifying Modern Art workshop at the TATE Gallery.
Badged Apprenticeships is a unique project that gives young people hands-on training in Liverpool's vibrant media and cultural industries. Apprentices in retail, hospitality, tourism or leisure can choose from a range of FREE workshops run in conjunction with media and creative organisations such as BBC Radio Merseyside, the Liverpool Echo and the TATE Gallery.
The Badged Apprenticeships project started in January 2008. Many young people have already been on one of the exciting workshops such as De-mystifying Modern Art and TV and Radio production . They've gained valuable media insight, creative skills and cultural awareness to put into practice in the workplace. Phase 2 of the project continues until Februaury 2009.
