National accreditation for Training Plus merseyside's flagship equality and diversity course

Brian QuinnTraining Plus merseyside's in-house equality and diversity course has been officially recognised as a national qualification on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The level 2 award, initiated by Training Plus merseyside director Brian Quinn and developed into a qualification by EDI, recently achieved accreditation from the regulators of qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The course is available nationally from February 2009, providing schools, colleges and employers with a valuable, flexible qualification.

Brian Quinn (pictured below) is delighted to have worked with EDI to introduce this nationally recognised level 2 award:
“Equality and diversity has always been a priority at Training Plus merseyside which is why so much effort and dedication went into developing our in-house programme. Its national accreditation on the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework is certainly one of the proudest episodes in our company’s history.”

Head of Education at EDI, Chris Bolton, comments:
“EDI and Training Plus merseyside’s collaboration was very successful in the development of this qualification.  Training Plus merseyside brought a great deal of invaluable expertise in the subject area, having run courses on Equality and Diversity for many years.  We look forward to the qualification being taken up by Training Plus merseyside and other training organisations across the country.”

Training Plus merseyside has provided its own equality and diversity training to learners and employers on Merseyside since 1999. The company has traditionally certificated this process internally. From February 2009 all staff and learners will be offered the EDI Level 2 Award in Equality and Diversity free of charge.
