This year's Hair Show filled the Liner Hotel, Liverpool with a glittering and retrospective array of Coiffure inspired by three music genres. John Grahame, Artistic Director from Toni & Guy Liverpool, commented that the standard of work by students this year was so high, that the judges job was not an easy one.
The show, held on the 18th March , consisted of four live hair competitions themed on 80's Pop, New Romantics and Punk music genres. Audiences were witness to some extraordinarily original hair creations performed live by Training Plus Merseyside’s trainees. Each competitor brought their own interpretation of the competition themes to life in their model’s hair, clearly the result of many weeks of creative exploration with their tutors and Salon Mentors.
The evening included the presentation of Exceptional Achievement Awards to the following students who demonstrated real commitment to their own progression and achievement:
Stephanie Leary; Kimberley Dalton; Janine Bennet; Christie Devlin; Keeley Jones; Alex Oakes; Ashley Grugel; Ashley Whittaker; James Jones; Heather Lynch; Megan Byrne; Patrick Wilson; Alison Lowe and Millie Perry.
Most Improved Student of the Year was awarded to Stephanie Burns from Voodou, Bold Street and Student of the Year
2009 is Jamie Lee Notarantonio of Barbara Daley, Lime Street.
Photographs of all competitiors and models are available at competitive rates from our professional colleagues Richard and Verity at Cetra Studios.
