Internet-Lounge is a hit with Learners

Learners using the internet Lounge During the week of the 12th of Janauary as Learners returned from the holiday break, Training Plus merseyside welcomed young people back to college with a motivational surprise! An Internet-Lounge for their personal and reserved use.

Learners were greeted by their teachers and assessors and offered refreshments throughout the week as they arrived for college. Childcare Teacher Kelly Hodgson said "the internet-lounge is such a hit, the students have loved it and it's a great place for them to relax on their way in and out of their studies here". One spokesperson reported that Facebook was amongst the most-visited websites. Not surprising really as the website is prohibited in the Company's teaching suites and offices.

Company Director, Jean Haram commented that, "...careful planning and consideration by the Board of Directors had been given to 'what learners want'; they are our principle clients; ensuring that our most-discerning clients are motivated and well-resourced for their studies is part of what makes us a successful Company. We're delighted the Internet Lounge has been so well received". Plans to formally and permanently adjoin the two buildings are being explored.

This new learner-space is possible as a result of the Company's expansion into adjacent premises at 66 Lime Street last September and is also the venue used for the delivery of one of the Country's first Diploma Lines; Society Health and Development. Training Plus merseyside has been delivering this exciting new award in collaboration with Liverpool Schools, Liverpool Community College and North West Community Services.
