World AIDS Day - 1st December

red ribbonWorld AIDS Day 1st December 2009

HIV infections and related deaths have dropped by more than 10%, according to a report by the BBC. It is believed that greater access to anti-retroviral drug treatments has reduced HIV related deaths by more than 10% over the past five years, according to the latest figures.

TPM sponsor and support HIV Education and awareness in many ways; not least of which is through our chosen charity this year, Theatre for a Change, a UK registered charity who make a real difference to the lives of many in Africa.

TPM also support our local agency Sahir House, who offer a wide range of services to individuals and families, living with or affected by HIV on Merseyside. We take health seriously and we believe it is important to ‘know the facts about HIV’. We make sure all young people have the opportunity to become aware about HIV and the facts about transmission. See our blog on HIV Awareness.

The red ribbon is an international symbol of HIV Awareness; wear a red ribbon and show your awareness this week and throughout the year.
