Your Views - Learner's Voices

As an introduction to the revised Learner Involvement Strategy at Training Plus merseyside, staff apprentices Annie Abdullah, Stephanie Owen and Josh Fearon canvassed the views of their client peers, about the courses and facilities provided by the Company and showed learners how they can make regular contributions and offer their opinions on quality improvements.

This particular survey (the first of several topical surveys to run throughout the year) allowed learners to give brief and succinct opinions on what they liked most and least about their training company. 120 responses were received from learners who are currently attending the centre and their top three responses to each question are as follows:

"What I like most about Training Plus merseyside"

  1. The Friendly Staff (40%).
  2. The methods and styles of teaching and learning (22%).
  3. The help and support from Staff (21%).

"What you would like to improve and why"

  1. Nothing to improve; It's good the way it is (67%).
  2. Longer lessons for Key Skills / Full day in college (14%).
  3. Less paper handouts during teaching sessions (5%).

Paula Ebden the Company's newest Manager in charge of Learner Support commented:

"I'm delighted at the response to this short survey it confirms that in the main we are getting it right for our Learners and this is in line with the results from the Framework for Excellence grades from 2007-8'.
