The Liverpool 14-19 Partnership’s ‘Invest to Change Project’ coordinated two key project objectives in 2009 – 2010. A series of bespoke training activities, which were commissioned and delivered to a range of work based learning providers.

The annual Open Day at tpm on Friday 30th April welcomed record numbers of school leavers and parents this year. All teaching, assessment, recruitment and support staff were on hand with advice, support and guidance.
Beverley Duff, receptionist at tpm has had an exceptional year. Having achieved level 2 qualifications in Equality and Diversity and Business Administration, she is now aiming even higher with her Level 3 award in Business Admin.

Alumni Apprentices Hannah Edwards and Josh Fearon inspired and moved delegates at the Merseyside Learning for Living and Work Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Speke on Wednesday 24th March 2010. Five workshops featuring the best practice and provision on Merseyside for learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LLDD) were on offer to delegates throughout the day. tpm provided a workshop entitled ‘Embracing LLDD; An Organisation’s Culture’.
Lauren Clarke left her day job as a Marketing Administrator behind on St Patrick’s day this year to entertain the massive crowd who gathered at the Liner Hotel on 17th March for the annual tpm Student Hair Show: Sustainable Seasons.

Record numbers flocked to the tpm Annual Student Hair Show to witness a seasonally themed and environmentally inspired showcase of talent and creativity. John Grahame, lead judge commented that yet again tpm staff and learners had raised the bar. The panel of judges further commented that the standard of work by students remained very high’ especially those in their first year of learning.
tpm Director Paula Hayes, joined leading figures from business and education in Westminster on March 9th, as the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) launched Functional Skills; a new qualification aimed at providing young people with essential life skills that will help them succeed in further education or employment.

During the recent National Apprenticeship Week tpm joined Allstars Merseyside in recognising and rewarding skills at work, celebrating the success of Apprentices, their employers, work-mentors, teachers and the assessors who supported them.

Apprenticeship Week will take place from Monday 1 February to Friday 5 February 2010. The Week, which is organised by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), will celebrate the talents and skills of apprentices.

Tpm have joined forces with Brook to offer learners a schedule of training, information advice and guidance on sexual health matters. Expert Brook advisors will deliver awareness-raising sessions to all tpm students throughout January, February and March.
