My job role is level 3 hairdressing trainer – assessor. I have worked for Training Plus merseyside for 4 years and my main responsibilities include maintaining a clear working understanding of the national NVQ standards, and teaching and assessing students accordingly so they achieve their qualification.
My qualifications include: Assessors Award (A1), Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds diploma in hairdressing, Wella colour diploma, level 2 Key Skills award, Dyslexia Awareness and I am currently completing a teaching qualification (PTLLS). Many of these have been sponsored by Training Plus merseyside. I have 20 years’ industry experience and have worked as a commercial hairdresser and technical educator for Indola.
The aspect of my job that I am most passionate about is ensuring that our students achieve their qualifications. I really believe the standard of service provided to our students and employers is excellent.
What I most value about my company is the honesty and openness of colleagues, managers and directors, and being able to approach anyone at work on any matter, work or personal. I have absolutely no regrets about coming here to work - the policies and principles on inclusiveness means that everyone is treated equally.
