The support provided by company management for staff is unbelievable.
| Name: | Carol Fleming |
|---|---|
| Role: | Key Skills Mentor |
I’ve worked at Training Plus merseyside for six years, teaching and mentoring students on developing their key skills. These are also known as basic, core or functional skills ie maths, English and information communication technology. My responsibilities include identifying, planning, supporting and reviewing students’ individual learning when they start training with us. This involves formal teaching but also one-to-one coaching and mentoring.
I am a qualified teacher and occupational assessor. I hold several specialist learning support and key skills qualifications as well as being an occupationally qualified nursery nurse with several years’ work experience in the childcare industry. In my last job I was a support tutor at a Liverpool college which is where I heard about Training Plus merseyside.
In my job, I am particularly passionate about making sure our students get everything they need to succeed on their courses. Staff here typically go out of their way for clients – it’s a very high standard of professional service delivered in a genuine and caring way.
What’s really striking about Training Plus merseyside is the way everyone looks after each other; it’s very friendly, just like a family really. When anyone has a problem we all come together to help. The support provided by the company management for staff is unbelievable – it’s always there when you want it, honest and uniquely empowering so you don’t feel a failure for needing support. Everyone needs support at work at times and Training Plus merseyside understand this more than any other company I’ve worked for.
To sum up Training Plus Merseyside in three words, I’d choose aware, committed and professional.
