I’ve worked at tpm for 9 years, during which time I have developed my skills and role within the organisation from a tutor/assessor to an internal verifier, culminating in my present position as programme manager. My responsibilities include the day to day running of the business administration apprenticeship programme; reporting performance and development of the programme to senior managers and the board of directors. Professionally, I keep my skills current by maintaining a very small caseload of apprentice candidates and internal verification.
I hold business and administration industry requisite qualifications and have many years of occupational experience. I support both learners and staff with their keys skill portfolios, and I represent tpm at various professional forums to ensure that my programme remains in line with best practice.
My motivation to come to work each day is the knowledge that I am part of a team who enable apprentices of all ages to achieve their life goals. When you have worked with someone who truly believed they could not achieve an award, there is no better feeling than the pleasure of telling them “Well done, you made it”.
tpm gave me an opportunity when I thought I was at the end of my career ladder; having been unemployed for several months and with little hope of being taken on, I responded to their advert for qualified assessment staff. Now look where I am. tpm’s strong equality and diversity policy and procedures means they “walk the talk” and not just “talk”.
Three words that sum up tpm for me are caring, passionate and committed.
