I’m a Childcare Tutor-Assessor at Training Plus merseyside. My main responsibilities include guiding and assessing students according to current national NVQ standards so that they achieve their qualifications and Apprenticeship frameworks. In my job, I really enjoy helping the students gain new skills, and using my knowledge and experience to support them with their qualifications.

My qualifications include: BA in Theology and Religious Studies, Childcare NVQ Level 2 & 3, (A1) Assessor Award, PTLLS and I am currently working towards my DTLLS Award which Training Plus merseyside has sponsored. I have 12 years’ experience working as a nursery nurse since I left school.

The service Training Plus merseyside offers is outstanding. Clients gain more than qualifications: students develop real workplace skills to support sustained employment and economic well being, whilst employers gain a reliable and increasingly skilled workforce and free recruitment service.

What I most value about Training Plus merseyside is working with a team of people that support each other. problems are readily shared and everyone’s opinion matters. I thought that my dyslexia might be a problem when I applied for the job but it wasn’t - the support and understanding from everyone is amazing.

Three words I’d choose to describe Training Plus merseyside are: support, responsibility and inclusion.
