Admissions
You can usually enrol on an apprenticeship without any previous qualifications however GCSEs and other qualifications can give you credits towards your chosen qualification.
There are certain essential conditions for training with us:
- attitude – you must be willing to learn, committed to completing your course, have excellent attendance and be punctual
- age – restrictions apply to government funded courses
- employment status – for some of our courses you must be employed in the relevant industry
Our admissions process follows 6 simple steps:
1 Contact us – we arrange an interview with one of our recruitment consultants. Pre-recruitment advice and information is available if you have a disability. Please see our disability statement for details.
2 Interview - you’ll be asked to complete an application form and to provide information about yourself including your education to date, your career aspirations, and any mobility, sensory or learning needs so we can offer the right support. We can offer help to complete forms if required - please let us know when you contact us.
3 Initial assessment – you’ll be asked to complete a range of simple computer-based tasks. This gives us an assessment of your literacy and numeracy skills, your learning level and your preferred learning style so we can arrange the right support for you.
4 Group induction – you attend a half day workshop with other learners where you find out all about your course, employer interviews, what is expected of you and the support available.
5 Employer interviews - you will be offered interviews with employers in your chosen occupation. Your recruitment consultant will help you to prepare for these so that you present yourself well at interview.
6 Start work and training – you will usually start your employment before your training begins. Once employed you will be formally signed onto your training programme.
Please note: this process will vary slightly if you are already employed and introduced to us through your employer
